Alternative Curriculum Day - Tuesday 6th November 2018
We have our first Alternative Curriculum Day of the academic year on Tuesday 6th November.
Alternative Curriculum Days involve collapsing our normal timetable to give us the opportunity to allow our pupils to participate in a range of alternative learning activities.
Each year group will have a bespoke timetable for the day which will be designed to meet their particular needs at this time. The Alternative Curriculum Day allows us the flexibility to incorporate exciting and engaging activities not included in the normal curriculum. We feel this is an important part of our pupils’ development allowing them to work collaboratively and develop teamwork.
Please find a brief outline of the day below:
Year 7 Reading for pleasure, personal organisational skills, team building and communication. Pupils will also have the opportunity to produce a tutor group shield and motto.
Year 8 The Apprentice meets Dragon’s Den! A chocolate bar challenge for young entrepreneurs!
Year 9 Enterprise Activities delivered by LifeSkills -Transformation Trust.
Year 10 ‘Moving On’ looking at interview techniques, communication within the workplace and Create a Me. There will also be a Market Place with stalls for local businesses to discuss career pathways.
Year 11 Revision and exam preparation for core subjects, on line resources and mentoring.
